The WVU+kc (Kuali) electronic research administration system is used to submit sponsored research proposals to and receive award notices from the Office of Sponsored Programs. Use your WVU Login username and password to access WVU+kc.

Submit a Proposal

Before you can create a proposal in WVU+kc, you will need to be granted the appropriate role to do so.  Submit a request to Information Technology Services (ITS) to request proposal creator access. Please allow one business day for your access request to be processed.

Research community members are encouraged to sign up for an in-person training session before submitting a proposal in WVU+kc. You can view the training schedule and register for a session on the ITS Training website.

If you cannot attend a scheduled training session, this  training video  also explains how to submit a proposal in WVU+kc. Please note that you will need to install (or allow permissions via your browser settings)  Adobe’s Flash Player in order to view the instruction video. Microsoft Edge browser now has Flash Player built-in and does not require an installation but will request permission for the software to run. Firefox or Chrome will require you to have the player installed and may also ask your permission to run. Technical problems encountered after installing Flash Player should be directed to the ITS Service Desk at  (304) 293-4444 or

View Award Notices

Specific access request is not required in order to view award notices (green sheets) in WVU+kc. The PI, Co-Investigators, task managers, and EBO managers on an award will receive email notice that an award has been established with a link to view the notice.

If you are a departmental administrator or EBO staff member that needs access to view award notices for an entire department or college, submit a request to ITS for the appropriate access.

Training is not required in order to view award notices; however, there are training documents and FAQs available from ITS. Questions can also be directed to OSP Award Initiation and Management Manager Paul Fetty.

Technical questions that occur when using WVU+kc to submit a proposal or view an award notice can be submitted to ITS by clicking on the Report Incident/Issue link within WVU+kc. Issues can also be directed to the ITS Service Desk at (304) 293-4444 or
